The 1-inch strap has a breaking strength of 350 kg, making the safe working load about 300 pounds. It's important to also consider the strength of your hardware and stitching. Be sure to calculate the safe working load for both your buckles and stitching. When in doubt, buy one strap and test it for your specific application.

Stainless steel cam straps made with heavyweight polypropylene webbing are suitable for medium-duty outdoor applications. This webbing offers excellent UV protection and doesn't absorb water quickly, making it more resistant to mildew and rot. However, polypropylene has poor abrasion resistance, so it's not recommended for use against rough edges.
Stainless steel cam straps made with lightweight polypropylene webbing are ideal for light-duty outdoor use. Other than the difference in breaking strength and webbing thickness, these straps have the same properties as the heavyweight polypropylene variety.
